RIK is a state agency working under the Ministry of Justice. RIK’s main goal is to provide an innovative and integrated environment of e-services for the more efficient implementation of governmental administration, law and criminal jurisdiction.
RIK develops and administers several registers and information services. It includes Commercial Register, E-notary, Land Register and several information systems for law and criminal jurisdiction (court information system, E-file, E-justice etc.). RIK is one of the biggest governmental IT-organizations in Estonia.

Our IT-solutions have been acknowledged in Estonia as well as in Europe. The success of the RIK has been confirmed by the auditors of the National Audit Office of Estonia in their latest audit on the use of IT solutions by the public sector (www.riigikontroll.ee ) 2007. Also we have been nominated and highlighted in several competitions around EU. For example: e-inclusion as a nominee, ePractice.eu with Good Practice Label 2007, European Enterprise Awards as a good practice of reducing red-tape , European Business Awards as an Ruban d’Honneur, Estonian nominee for World Summit Awards competition 2009 and our Cross Border eID project was nominated as a finalist of European eGovernment Awards 2009.
