Information request

An information request is a request for public information by a person to an agency. Public information is information which is recorded and documented in any manner and on any medium and which has been collected in an agency upon performance of public duties (Public Information Act, § 3). Petitions, memoranda and other such documents are not considered public information. The principles of maintenance and use of personal data contained in the communication sent to the RIK are provided for in the privacy policy of the RIK.

An information request will be complied with as soon as possible and not later than within 5 business days. If an information request needs to be clarified or if identifying the information takes time, then the deadline for complying with such an information request may extend to the maximum of 15 business days.
