Appointing a data protection officer
If your establishment or company is required to have a data protection officer pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU, notify the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate of appointing an officer via the E-Business Register. By notifying through the portal, the information is also accessible to the public and thus you have also performed the obligation to provide information to the public. The requirement to notify the Inspectorate of appointing a data protection officer enters into force on 25 May 2018.
A person with the right of representation is able to notify of appointing a data protection officer via the Company Registration Portal. To submit, a person with the right of representation has to log in to the portal, fill in the given name and surname and the personal identification code or the date of birth of the data protection officer in the respective form.

Who are required to appoint a data protection officer?
Data of the submitted data protection officer can be seen in the information system of the e-Business Register by searching for the business by name or registry code.
