At the beginning of the year, the new version of the Estonian Economic Activity Classification EMTAK 2025 came into force. The transition to the new classification will take place gradually in the register with the submission of annual reports. The exceptions are sole proprietors and limited partnerships, which do not have a obligation to submit annual reports the register. They can submit their field of activity with a change application in the e-Busiess Register portal.

The e-Business register portal has a new statistics view from this week summarizing information, which includes an overview of established companies, fields of activity, deletions from the register, and the submission of annual reports over the years.

The new statistics page reflects significantly more information compared to the previous one, contains filtering options, aggregate numbers are easier to follow, and the statistics are updated in the system at daily intervals.

It is still possible to issue authorisations for entering and submitting annual reports in the annual report submission portal of the e-Business Register, through which the report is sent to the Business Register. At the beginning of February, however, the new central authorisations management information system Pääsuke was completed, which is in the state portal eesti.ee and offers a variety of additional options for managing authorisations in self-service environments.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Registers and Information Systems has completed a new online platform for delivering documents to people. Viewing documents is now more convenient, while delivery is cheaper and more efficient for the state. Initially, it will be possible to access documents of judicial and extrajudicial proceedings in the delivery portal, but in the future, it is planned to join other areas with the platform.

The Ministry of Justice sent a draft regulation for review and approval, with a purpose to cancel the fees for making inquiries from the e-Business Register. The aim of this is to increase transparency in the business sector and to encourage the development of new, data-driven services.

According to the Minister of Justice Maris Lauri, the preconditions will be created for the company to use the potential of public data to support economic growth and create new jobs.
